(from Joy of Cooking)
3 lbs. firm cooking pears
1 seeded orange
1 seeded lemon
Put the fruit through a grinder, uing a coarse
blade.
Add to the fruit:
1 cup crushed pineapple
3 cups sugar
4 whole cloves
6 inches cinnamon stick
1 one inch piece ginger
Stir the mixture while heating it. Boil for
about 30 minutes. Pour into hot sterilized glasses.
